selenomancer replied to your post: So I got my first acupuncture treatmen…

Wow! I’ve heard good things myself when it comes to acupuncture, particularly for people with migraines and stuff. $25 dollars? That makes me want to consider it all the more.

Yeah! It was a sliding scale of $25-$50 per session; as a broke college student, I opted to pay the $25. Definitely worth at least trying, in my opinion.

I would go do it but I’m so deathly afraid of needles I think that I would pass out

I was nervous about the needles but then I realized that I have three tattoos, and that was much more aggressive interaction with needles than this was! They barely go in your skin and are sooooo thin. At some spots, the only reason I knew she put a needle there was because I felt her hands.

So I got my first acupuncture treatment done today!

I went to Blooming Community Acupuncture Clinic and my experience overall was wonderful. I went with my lovely friend Katie (oils). I discussed some of my health problems with the acupuncturist, Jill. I had read that acupuncture could be helpful to people with depression and anxiety, and I also mentioned my sleep problems.

She ended up putting tiny little needles all over my body: my forehead, ears, neck, hands, wrists, stomach, ankles, and feet. I was really surprised by how little the needles hurt, I barely even felt most of them at all. The ones that hurt the most were in my right ear, but they still didn’t hurt enough for me to even flinch.

My friend got hers done in the same room as me, and Jill turned on some music and turned off the lights. We laid in there for probably half a hour until Jill came back and removed the needles, which hurt even less than them going in. I felt super relaxed and alert. I had a new sense of clarity that felt really good.

Long story short, I highly recommend acupuncture! It only cost me $25 and I will definitely get it done again in the future.
